Der Spiegel offers themed articles which can be used in a Higher/Advanced Higher class.
For easier reading, Sowieso is a good source of online reading materials. The use of the material is up to you, but you could work with the Science or Geography department on the environment, and use the article "Wasser, Feuer, Hitze" as a reading exercise.
Blinde-Kuh is a web page with articles made by German speaking children, for children. A class could get an article together and send it, for German children to read!
Le Journal des Enfants is an easy reading source, where the articles can be downloaded as .pdf files. It also provides themed articles which could be used in class as part of a little research for a presentation, for example.
